I think the questionnaire or a cover letter should be frank about the
fact that the results will also be used as a guide to advertisers.

I doubt that AI magazine should solicit consumer advertising and hence doubt
the relevance of the income and other demographic questions.

Some question about what products readers help purchase for employers might
be relevant.
